Ashley grew up constantly in and around water, but it wasn’t until later in life that she first picked up a tiller. From there, she quickly jumped into racing both dinghy and keelboats, started volunteering with WSC’s High School sailing team, and went on to earn her certifications to charter sailboats.
Ashley is a very active sailor — owning and racing a Melges 24 on the Columbia and regularly crewing on a Thistle on the Willamette. As someone who did not have the opportunity or the exposure to learn as a child, OYSF’s mission to get more youth sailing is near and dear to Ashley’s heart. Youth sailors are some of the most passionate, independent, and confident kids she’s met, and she strongly believes that the opportunity to get out on the water and experience sailing should be available to everyone.
Ashley’s professional background in is technology start up marketing. She currently is a Marketing Program Manager for AWS Elemental, An Amazon Web Services Company.
