  • OYSF Community Sailing Summer Camps on the Willamette

Over 10 weeks, more than 130 students learned to sail and explored the river with certified coaches at the Willamette Sailing Club in Portland. That’s nearly 125 hours of sailing instruction this summer.

25 of those students also learned to build a 10′ wooden boat during our Build and Sail camps in partnership with Wind & Oar Boat School.

The 2025 partners included students from Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization, Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center, iUrbanTeen, Latino Network, Gym Space Equity, and African Youth Community Organization.

All of this is offered at no cost to participants because of supporters like you!

  • Columbia Gorge Community Nights

Families enjoyed weeknights of free summer sailing on the Columbia River in Cascade Locks and Hood River. More than 200 people participated over 10 nights and two days of combined paddling and sailing camps with the Gorge Canoe Club.
