Newport Youth Sailing

The Yaquina Bay Yacht Club was founded in 1947 with the purpose of promoting aquatic sports of all kinds, particularly yachting, and preserving the traditions of navigation and seamanship. The original clubhouse was located near Riverbend, then after many years of temporary meeting venues the current harbor-view clubhouse was constructed in 2004 using all volunteer labor. A 20×40 floating structure was added recently through a partnership with the Oregon Boating Foundation for our Youth Sailing Program. Our members represent all ages and walks of life, sharing camaraderie and a love of sailing and being on the water.

CLUB ACTIVITIES:
Whether your interests are sailboat racing, power boat navigating, cruising the local waters, rowing, crabbing, paddling, fishing, or a comprehensive junior sailing program, YBYC provides the perfect venue to share those interests with other club members and friends. Our main clubhouse room has a casual atmosphere but is easily decorated by you to host a variety of events, weddings, receptions, birthday parties, reunions or your next get-together. The Yaquina Bay Yacht Club hosts a variety of Regattas each year and participates in the Seafood & Wine Festival, Loyalty Days Parade, Newport Marathon, Toledo Wooden Boat Show, The Bridge to Bridge Race and the Lighted Boat Parade.
